MAY PRAYER DIARY.
1st: We pray for residents of Lucy Close. We celebrate the Feast of St Philip and St James, Apostles. We pray for guidance in our own Christian journey and discipleship.
 
2nd: We pray for residents of Stanway Green. We pray for all in Government and positions of responsibility. We pray for our local Councillors.
 
3rd: We pray for residents of Stonehouse Drive. We pray for the recently Baptised and those families preparing for Baptism. We pray for those who have recently moved to Stanway, that they will feel welcome.
 
4th: We pray for residents of Swift Avenue. English Saints and Martyrs of the Reformation Era. We pray for the outreach of all our local churches.
 
5th: We pray for residents of the Folly. We pray for our King and all members of the Royal Family as they seek to carry out their duties.
 
6th: We pray for residents of Tollgate Court. We give thanks for our Leadership Team and for our PCC and Church Wardens. May they be given wisdom to carry out their duties faithfully.
 
7th: We pray for residents of Tydeman Close. We pray for our Bishops, Clergy and Lay Ministers. We pray too for Diocesan and Deanery Synod and the outreach of the Church.
 
8th: We pray for residents of Valley Close. Feast of Julian of Norwich, Spiritual Writer, c. 1417. We pray for all victims of war, for refugees and relief agencies
 
9th: We pray for residents of Wesley Sanford Rd. We pray for Mayors and past Mayors of our community and give thanks for their charity work for the city, especially in hospitals and local care homes.
 
10th: We pray for residents of Wren Close. We give thanks for God’s Creation. We pray for farmers and all who live in our rural communities.
 
11th: We pray for residents of Stirrup Mews. We pray for God’s blessing on all crops and livestock. We pray for all who work on land and sea, especially those suffering mental and financial problems.
 
12th: We pray for residents of Weyland Drive. Gregory Dix: Priest, Monk, Scholar; 1952. We pray for our Youth and Alpha Groups and any follow up groups.
 
13th: We pray for residents of Swallow Tail Glade. We pray for those in our parish preparing for marriage and those whose Banns will be called. May their day and future life be Blessed.
 
14th: We pray for residents of Haywain. Feast of St Matthias: the Apostle chosen by lots to replace Judas. “I appointed you to bear fruit that will last.” May we work to bear fruit that will last.
 
15th: We pray for residents of Tollgate Rd. Christian Aid Week. We pray for peace, justice and reconciliation. We pray for all who have experienced racial abuse and discrimination.
 
16th: We pray for residents of Tyed Croft. Caroline Chisholm, Social Reformer, 1877. We pray for our families, friends and neighbours.
 
17th: We pray for residents of Turkey Cock Lane. We pray for our outreach Pioneer Ministry Team, for the initiative of Stanwell Hub and the continuation of the ever-popular Community Coffee Mornings. We give thanks for coffee makers, cake makers and flower arrangers.
 
18th: We pray for residents of Harvest End. We continue to pray for the Environment Group and the Eco Group, aiming to help churches meet carbon reduction.
 
19th: We pray for residents of Farriers End. Dunstan, Archbishop of Canterbury. Monastic Reformer, 988 a.d. We pray for our groups for young people: Tots, Bright’s, Rise and Shine, Rainbows and Brownies.
 
20th: We pray for residents of Mayflower Close. Feast of St Ethelbert, King of East Anglia. We give thanks for our beautiful church and for all who have worshipped here over the years.
 
21st: We pray for residents of Oatfield Close. Helena, Protector of Holy Places, 330 a.d. Patron Saint of Colchester. We pay for our city, for retail, schools, hospitality and wellbeing.
 
22nd: We pray for residents of Burton Way. We pray for the Ministry of the Actors’ Church Union. We pray for performers, the local theatre and all involved in the entertainment industry.
 
23rd: We pray for residents of Barley Way. We pray for all who are vulnerable and still unable to return to church. We pray for those on our Prayer list. We pray too for those who have died recently and their families.
 
24th: We pray for residents of New Farm Rd. John and Charles Wesley, Evangelists and Hymn Writers: 1791&1788. We give thanks for our beautiful hymns, for music to appreciate and performers.
 
25th: We pray for residents of London Rd. The Venerable Bede: 735a.d. monk, scholar and historian. We pray for all students now sitting public exams which will have bearing on their future.
 
26th: We pray for those who use Tollgate West. Augustine, first Archbishop of Canterbury: 605a.d. We pray for those preparing for Confirmation
 
27th: We pray for residents of Reginald Hilham Walk. We pray for those in the medical and caring professions. We pray for those who work in our hospitals, care homes and hospices.
 
28th: We pray for residents of Harrison Walk. Lanfranc, Archbishop of Canterbury,1089. We pray for those who live and work in Loganberry Lodge.
 
29th: We pray for Lakelands, especially the school. We pray for teachers, pupils and governors of local schools. We pray for outreach for Messy Church, fun play areas and our own South Aisle play area.
 
30th: We pray for Oakwood Estate. We pray for Community outreach, for Food Bank&mdash;for those who contribute and those who are in need because of the current economic crisis.
 
31st: We pray for all who visit Stane Park Retail Centre. Visit of Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth, Mother of John the Baptist. “My Soul doth magnify the Lord and my Spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” (Magnificat.)

St Albright’s Church, Stanway.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Prayer Diary.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; April.

1st: We pray for residents of Dawnford Close. Frederick Denison Maurice, priest, teacher of the faith 1872. He was the Founder of the Christian Socialist Movement, providing education for working men. We give thanks for all opportunities for learning. We pray for local Groups of W.E.A.
 
2nd: We pray for residents of Ewan Way. We pray for Stanway Parish Council, for all local businesses and for Stane Retail Park
 
3rd: We pray for residents of Frensham Close. We pray for our Royal family, the Commonwealth and all members of Government.
 
4th: We pray for residents of King Coel Road. We pray for our local churches: for Bishops, Priests and Lay Ministers.; all who contribute to the life of the church.
 
5th: We pray for residents of Layer Road. We pray for Stanwell Hub, that those who come will find fellowship and a warm welcome.
 
6th: We pray for residents of Longstraw Close. We continue to pray for the lonely, the vulnerable, all in Care Homes, especially those in Loganberry Lodge.
 
7th: We pray for residents of Meadow Grass Close. Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Day. We pray for all who died in concentration camps. We pray for peace and justice and the laying down of weapons.
 
8th: We pray for the residents of Montbretia Close. May we continue to care for the environment and the beauty of our world.
 
9th: We pray for residents of Peace Road. Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Lutheran Pastor and Martyr, 1906. He was executed in a concentration camp in 1945. He paid the ultimate price for his faithful witness and discipleship.
 
10th: We pray for residents of Peartree Road. William Law 1686: Priest and Spiritual Writer. His writings influenced John and Charles Wesley. We give thanks for those who have influenced us on our Christian Journey.
 
11th: We pray for residents of Rambler Close. George Selwyn 1809. He was educated in Cambridge. He was one of the founders of New Zealand and its church. He was also chief founder of the Lambeth Conferences of Bishops.
 
12th: We pray for residents of Rowan Close. William Forbes 1585, first Bishop of Edinburgh. We pray for all areas of conflict, that peace may resume in these troubled areas.
 
13th: We pray for residents of Rye Close. We pray for all who are fearful, those losing their homes and we pray for those organisations and charities helping refugees.
 
14th: We pray for residents of Spring Sedge Court. We pray for help, support and housing, especially for those coming to this country from areas of war.
 
15th: We pray for residents of Stable Close. We pray for those who will be Baptised at St Albright’s this year and for those whose Banns will be called.
 
16th: We pray for residents of Tollgate Drive. Isabella Gilmore 1842, sister of William Morris. She was a nurse at Guy’s Hospital and was asked to pioneer Deaconess work. The Order of Deaconesses was planned along the lines of Ordained Ministry. We give thanks for Ordained Ministry and earlier Pioneer Ministries.
 
17th: We pray for residents of Villa Road. We pray for our Tots Group, Brights and Rise and Shine. We pray for families with young children.
 
18th: We pray for residents of Wheatfield Road. We pray for those leading and attending Alpha Courses, Discussion Groups and Bible Study Groups.
 
19th: We pray for residents of Harvey Crescent. We pray for our local Zoo, for those working in restaurants and on our local farms.
 
20th: We pray for residents of Winstree Road. We pray for all returning to school or college for exams. We pray for all teachers and students.
 
21st: We pray for residents of Stanfield Close. Anselm, Archbishop of Canterbury, Martyr, 1012. We pray for those who work with children with Special Needs. We pray especially for all who attend and work at Lexden Springs School.
 
22nd: We pray for residents of Haywain. We pray for those with financial concerns, the unemployed and those who need to visit the Foodbank.
 
23rd: We pray for residents of Blackberry Road. St George’s day: Patron Saint of England. We pray for Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows---especially those groups who meet in our hall.
 
24th: We pray for residents of London Road. Mellitus, Bishop of London, first Bishop of St Paul’s and Archbishop of Canterbury 619ad. We pray for those with mental health problems and for those who care for them.
 
25th: We pray for residents of Church Lane. St Mark, Evangelist. St Mark’s Gospel is generally considered to be the earliest of the Gospels. We pray for all on our prayer list and those who have died recently.
 
26th: We pray for Stane Leisure Park. We give thanks for our church hall, for those who maintain it and for the opportunities of fellowship that take place there.
 
27th: We pray for residents of Christopher Garnet Chase. Christina Rossetti, 1894. Poet. We give thanks for Authors, Artists, Poets, Musicians. We pray for local choirs, our church choir and organist.
 
28th: We pray for residents of New Farm Road. We give thanks for all the amenities in Stanway, for the Police, Ambulance Service, Medical Profession and Legal Profession.
 
29th: We pray for residents of Maldon Road. Catherine of Siena, born 1347. She became a Dominican Tertiary at the age of 18 and devoted her life to the active care of the poor and sick. We pray for all in need and those who work in health care.
 
30th: We pray for residents of Holly Road. Pandita Mary Ramabai, 1858, converted to Christianity and spent many years working for the education of women and orphans, founding schools and homes. May we be grateful for the numerous blessings we receive day by day.

Lent Reflections

St Albright’s Church, Stanway.&nbsp;&nbsp; Prayer Diary.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; March.

1st: We pray for residents of Lace Wing Green. David, Patron Saint of Wales, 601ad. Monk, Bishop. He was kind, compassionate, with emphasis on hard work. We pray for St Albright’s Church and Stanway Community.
2nd: We pray for residents of Rose Ave. Ash Wednesday. In view of the Russian attack on Ukraine, the Pope and Archbishops of York and Canterbury are supporting a Global Day of Prayer and fasting for peace We pray for pioneering work in Stanway.

3rd: We pray for residents of Leopard Gardens. John and Charles Wesley: Evangelists, Open Air Preachers and Hymn Writers. We pray for Stanway Parish Council.

4th: We pray for residents of Rhino Drive. Adrian of May Island 875ad. May Island became a centre of pilgrimage. We pray for Bright’s, St Albright’s Tots and Rise and Shine.

5th: We pray for residents of Sealion Approach. Non, Mother of St David. We pray for families with young children.

6th: We pray for residents of Bridle Way. We pray for our King and members of his government. We pray for areas of the world where there is conflict and unrest.

7th: We pray for residents of Centaury Close. We pray for Chaplains in hospitals and hospices. We pray to for our Diocesan Bishops and Clergy.

8th: We pray for residents of Red Panda Road. Edward King, Bishop of Lincoln 1910 and Professor of Theology at Oxford. His gift was his example of pastoral care to Clergy and Laity alike. We pray for other churches in Stanway.

9th: We pray for residents of Wallaby Way. We pray for our local schools: Lakelands, Fiveways, Stanway Primary and Secondary Schools and our Special Needs School.

10th: We pray for residents of Lemur Lane. We pray for our Uniform Groups: Rainbows and Brownies. We pray too for Stanway Youth and local Sports Teams.

11th: We pray for residents of Penguin Parade. We pray for all in residential Care Homes, especially those in Loganberry Lodge. We pray for all Carers and those who visit the lonely in their own homes.

12th: We pray for residents of Wombat Street. We pray for our Pastoral and Ministry teams, for those who visit the Sick and Bereaved. We pray for nurses and doctors.

13th: We pray for residents of Crossbills Walk. We pray for Stanway ECO Group and that we act as good stewards of the earth. We pray for all who work in the Police Force, Ambulance and Emergency Services.

14th: We pray for residents of Charles Bee Way. We pray for the work of Mothers’ Union, and we pray for mothers everywhere.

15th: We pray for residents of Finch Road. We pray for those who are still suffering from “long Covid.” We pray too for the vulnerable and those still needing to isolate.

16th: We pray for residents of Moorhen Drift. We pray for local retail and businesses in Stanway.

17th: We pray for residents of Nuthatch Close. St Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland,460 ad. Patrick was aware that all he achieved was by the grace of God. We pray for the Lent Book Club.

18th: We pray for residents of Partridge Way. Cyril, Bishop of Jerusalem. His teaching was profoundly orthodox and sound. We pray for those to be Baptised this year.

19th: We pray for residents of Peter Crowe Approach. Joseph of Nazareth---a good man and a working carpenter. He trusted in God and fulfilled the role of Jesus’ earthly father. We pray for all fathers and local craftsmen (and crafts women!)

20th: We pray for residents of Pipit Court. Cuthbert, Bishop of Lindisfarne, 687ad.We pray for all whose Banns will be called this year and for those who will be married in our church this year.

21st: We pray for residents of Dawnford Close. Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury,1556. He was a Reformation Martyr. We give thanks for our local parks, orchards and play areas.

22nd: We pray for residents of Plover Rd. We pray for those suffering abuse from parents or partners. We pray for the work of Samaritans, Childline and our Diocesan Safeguarding Team.

23rd; We pray for residents of Redshank Rd. We pray for those experiencing financial difficulties, loss of employment. We give thanks for the Foodbank and those reaching out to people in need.

24th: We pray for residents of Redwing Close. We pray for the appointment of our new Office Administrator. We pray for members of the PCC as they undertake their various duties.

25th: We pray for residents of Damask Rd. Annunciation to the Virgin Mary that she was to be the Mother of Jesus.

26th: We pray for residents of Rook End. Harriet Mansell, founder of the Community of John the Baptist, 1885. She undertook a range of Social Work. We pray for our local community groups.

27th: We pray for residents of Skylark Way. Give thanks that soon Ladies’ Fellowship and Parish Lunches will resume.

28th: We pray for residents of Dugard Avenue. We pray for our Choir, Organist and the joy of music.

29th: We pray for residents of Wagtail Mews. We pray for farmers and all who work on land and sea.

30th: We pray for residents of Stone Chat Drive. We pray for the restoration of the church in Norfolk which was recently gutted by fire. We pray too for the congregation, having to worship elsewhere until the church is restored.

31st: We pray for residents of Warbler Grove. We pray for those on our Prayer List and those who have asked for our Prayers.
